One of our aims in Candlemaker Row is to help protect the environment as much as we can and potential guests can help us achieve our aim.
We rely on our website to tell you about our apartment and don't use brochures - which, anyway, go out of date too quickly. We try to communicate as much as possible by email or phone, rather than use paper, though we will send you a paper receipt by post. This gives you the exact address of the flat and the code for the keypad. We don't put these online because availability is indicated on our website. Any paper we do use is recycled, and bears the PEFC logo; we also always recycle our ink cartridges.
Our apartment is in the Old Town of Edinburgh where the medieval streets are narrow and unwelcoming to cars. So, environmental considerations apart, we encourage guests to leave their cars at home (or park them out of town for the duration of their stay) and use instead Edinburgh's excellent public transport system. We supply lots of timetables and route maps for guests to use. However, to help with luggage, you may wish to use a taxi when you arrive and leave and we suggest you contact a carbon neutral taxi firm such as
